Come along on an adventure as a youngster finds out who he is, and discovers the help he needs in very unexpected places.
The story begins with an overwhelming attack that scatters the mole kingdom across the seas. It then picks up with Barley, orphan and heir to the throne, moving with his uncle and aunt to live under the azalea bed in front of a simple blue house far from their home … where he finds an amazing set of new friends, and a gift that takes him — and them — literally around the world.
Book Two: Going Home — in production, due to be released in May, 2016
The Blue House
At the edge of the woods, across the street from the powder blue home with the white wrap-around porch and the azaleas out front, Samuel peered over the asphalt at the wide lawn, considering the possibilities. The pending downpour would soften everything up, and give them a good start. Here in the woods, it had been dry, and the bugs were not plentiful. But the lady sprayed water on that lawn most days, and the bugs would be there. Had anyone else already tunneled that ground? Can’t tell from here.
The picture suddenly got worse.
Cats. I smell cats. I hate cats.
“Uncle Samuel, what’s wrong? Your fur just stuck straight up on your back, and it looks like you slept upside down!”
“Stay down, Barley. I smell cats. If they hear you digging, or smell you, it could be … difficult.”
